About Tom
Tom started rowing aged 13 at The Grange School in Cheshire, and continued his rowing education at one of the UK’s leading rowing universities, Newcastle, where he read Geography. He received his first international representation for Great Britain in 2013 at the Under 23 World Championships and was selected again in 2014, both in the Mens VIII.
As a student Tom was World University Champion in 2014 and again in 2016, having moved to Henley on Thames in 2015 to row for Leander Club and continue his development. In 2017, Tom joined the senior GB rowing team and through 2019 was a double European Silver medallist, World Cup winner and a double World Championship bronze medallist.
However, 2021 was Tom’s strongest year to date as a member of the Men’s Eights (along with James Rudkin). Gold at the European Championships in Varese, Italy, was followed up with gold at the rowing World Cup II in Lucerne, Switzerland. These results secured Tom’s seat in the Eight and enabled him to realise a life’s ambition of taking part in an Olympics, where the team secured a fantastic bronze in Tokyo.

When does Tom use LifeJacket and why?
I use LifeJacket products as part of my everyday skin wellbeing. As an international rower we spend many hours outside and often in warmer climates training. It is essential for us to protect ourselves against the sun, both from a health perspective and also for performance.
Our coach, Jurgen Grobler, always says “your health is your business” and as such looking after my body in every aspect is part of my job. The LifeJacket message is simple and clear, they want people to live healthy and happier lives. For me, this fits in perfectly with the lifestyle I lead and what I want to achieve.
