Personal trainer, Bradley Simmonds, tells us what's in his bag

Bradley Simmonds is a former professional footballer and, now, personal trainer to hundreds of people including Olympic athletes, models and footballers.

Bradley retired from football after an injury and went on to launch himself as a personal trainer. His audience exploded during COVID thanks to boredom and, with gyms closed, people's desire to find ways to stay fit. Bradley ran twice-daily workouts on Instagram: one high intensity and one strength-based.

Bradley doesn't mess around when it comes to health and fitness. He can be pretty direct and is the first person to dish out the facts rather than pamper to excuses. He believes in good habits as well as regular and disciplined work. He also loves to get outside and spend time outdoors, something we also care about deeply.

My Theragun Elite massage gun helps my body recover from all the training I do. Obviously a daily massage by a professional would be lovely but not feasible so this is the next best thing. I do train everyday and, once a month, I pre-record a bulk of workouts for my platform Get It Done, this can be super strenuous on my body so the massage gun helps to loosen up my muscles, improve circulation and therefore improve my performance. When you train like I do, rest and recovery is just as important as the training itself.

I use these so I can listen to my podcast while walking Roots (my dog) without interruption. They really help me switch off from the rest of the world while being in the nature. It’s also a great way for me to learn about other topics outside of health and fitness. It’s easy for me to just be consumed by the industry I work in so I use this time and these headphones to take my mind elsewhere and learn something new.
